Oncological surgery is a
branch of medicine, a surgical specialization, dealing with the surgical
treatment of cancer. Surgical procedures are one of the basic methods
of treating cancer and tumors. Most patients diagnosed with cancer (at
some stage of their disease) require surgical intervention. Oncological surgery
also includes assessing the stage of advancement of tumors.
Surgical excision of a neoplastic lesion is
one of the basic methods of treatment. In accordance with modern medical art,
the lesion is excised along with the adjacent margin of healthy tissue around
it. The final diagnosis of a neoplastic lesion should be made only after the
evaluation of a histopathological examination, i.e. a sample of the tumor
tissue or a cytological evaluation of cells collected for testing.
Surgery
Clinic is a specialized surgical facility. A qualified team of
surgeons specializes in surgical
treatment of cancer. Before the surgery, a consultation is carried out, where
the surgeon assesses the general condition of the patient. After conducting a
medical interview and reviewing the test results, the surgeon plans the course
of the surgery.
